Although most of you know us already, I thought I would give everyone a little run down of the fam for future reference sake.
Me: I am a wife, mom, daughter, sister, friend,
teacher nanny, and avid lover of: running, traveling, exploring, checking the mail, reading, shopping, biking, eating cake and ice-cream (separately), cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, checking my fantasy football points, watching television, participating in Booze Book Club, sleeping, Harry Potter, and pinning on Pinterest.
Husband (also known as Justin): We met in second grade at Hoover Elementary School and naturally “went out” with one another in third and fifth grade. We all know this type of “dating”: Boy tells friends he likes a girl. Boy’s friends ask girl (while surrounded by her friends) “Will you go out with (insert boy name)?” Girls giggle while saying “Yes!” Boy’s friend runs back to tell him the good news. Boy and girl do not talk until they break up two days later. Yeah that was us and you know it was you too. Anyways. We are high school sweethearts and have been together for the last nine years including three years of marriage. Justin works in downtown Chicago at Fifth Third Bank, but in his free time he loves traveling, hiking, mountain biking, Harry Potter, reading biographies and historical non-fiction, eating chocolate chip cookies, dancing at the Summit and Hangge Uppe, and representing the Hawkeyes and America.
Maddie (left): My oldest daughter is a Shih Tzu and Pomeranian mix, also known as a Shiranian. She has been a part of our family since she was just six weeks old and she somehow survived two years of college life at the University of Iowa (house parties included). Maddie has yet to meet a food she doesn’t like, is the world’s most perfect cuddler, loves a good belly rub, and plays momma to her little sis.
Oakley (right): My youngest daughter, who is a Shorkie Tzu, a Shih Tzu and Yorkie mix breed. We also have had her since she was six weeks old and for the last four years. Oakley is constantly active and squeaking her big green stuffed puppy. She can jump onto surfaces four times her height and can sneak out of any cage or entrapment we put her in. She enjoys long walks and chasing squirrels, (sometimes rats) through the park.
Well, that’s the family. Aren’t they adorable?
