Chocolate Chip Cookies

Whether attending Saturday football tailgates, dinner parties, or family functions, I always volunteer to bring dessert.  I mean who doesn’t like dessert and who can seriously mess it up?  Since I was allowed to use an oven, I’ve used the exact same chocolate chip cookie recipe, which has become quite popular among my friends. When I discovered (on Pinterest, where else?) this recipe titled “BEST-EVER Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies” I had to try it for comparison.  That title does not lie.  These cookies were amazing!!  Justin, a self-proclaimed cookie dough expert, LOVED the cookie dough to the point of getting kicked out of the kitchen.  Plus they were super easy, only took ten minutes to bake, and looked like they came straight from a Nestle cookie commercial.  These come highly recommended!

3/4 c. unsalted butter, softened
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 c. all purpose flour
2 tsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chocolate chips

1.  Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

2.  In a stand mixer, cream together butter and sugars until fluffy and light in color.

3.  Add egg and vanilla; mix together.

4.  Mix in flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt.  Stir in chocolate chips.

5.  Drop tablespoon sized dough drops onto a prepared baking sheet.  Bake 8 to 10 minutes until cookie edges are barely golden.  Do NOT bake longer than 10 minutes.  Let cool 2 minutes on the baking sheet then move to a wire rack to cool completely.
