Thrifty Threads: Red Hot Leopard

Originally one of the main ideas behind starting this blog, The Thread Affect, was to share with all my wonderful readers out there how to get the fashion forward outfits seen everywhere from runways to style magazines to celebrities to high fashion blogs for way less, aka every article of clothing under $50 (sometimes excluding watches and shoes since they are investment pieces you wear with everything).  Everyone can look stylish no matter what their budget!  The key is to invest in versatile classic items you absolutely love and mix them with less expensive trendier, of the moment items.

So here to start off my new weekly post of, Thrifty Threads, is Red Hot Leopard showcasing two trends seen everywhere lately:  colored denim and leopard print.  Besides the watch, I wouldn’t call any of these individual pieces a necessary investment since you can find quality versions of them everywhere right now, however, they are extremely versatile in their ability to coordinate with multiple other items in your closet (as you will see in future posts).  What are your thoughts on these two trends?  Would you pair bright denim with a print or combine a denim shirt with denim pants?  Earlier this month, I tried mixing these two trends a little differently (see it here).

{Mossimo Supply Co Skinny Red Denim from Target $23 | Chambray Shirt from Old Navy $24 | Steve Madden Leopard Print Flats from Von Maur $22 | Julie Apple Flip It Convertible Clutch from Endless $48 | Polished Gold Knot Stud Earrings from Jon Richard $10 | Michael Kors Jet Sport Watch from Nordstrom $180}
