The amount of spaghetti we ate our first year of marriage is beyond embarrassing. To spice up our regular bland routine of ground beef, spaghetti noodles, and marinara sauce, we switch it up with a simple yet flavorful change to spicy Italian Sausage and penne noodles with the addition of pepperonis and mozzarella cheese all baked together to create a cheesy delicious pasta dish!

Bake Time             20-25 minutes
Makes                    6-8 servings


1.5 lbs Italian sausage
16 oz penne noodles
42 oz spaghetti sauce
1 pkg pepperoni
1 can mushrooms, optional
16 oz mozzarella cheese


Boil noodles and brown sausage; drain both. Combine noodles, sausage, pepperoni, spaghetti sauce, and a handful of cheese; stir well.  Pour into a 9 x 13 baking dish, top with remaining cheese, and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

  1. Since moving to Sicily, my Husband and I eat Spaghetti, Linguine, dishes every other day! It amazing how many variations we can come up with! Good job, looks yummy!
