May Highlights

The five weeks since we’ve been home have absolutely flown by, between family get togethers, catching up with friends, and attempting to figure out our next steps (i.e. job, place to live), life has been anything but boring. We are enjoying every minute of this time with friends/family as well as our remarkably flexible daily schedules. Here are a few highlights from the month of May:

LifeLately

  1. Cobb Salad with Avocado for a healthy lunch date at Panera with mom
  2. Cheering on my brother at his final track meet as a junior
  3. Can’t get enough of Joe Fresh’s collection for JCPenney’s
  4. My new June Ab challenge. Join me? Please?
  5. Rough day for these three ladies – comfy blanket and napping through Casablanca
  6. Memorial Day donuts – I mean we HAD to, they had patriotic sprinkles!
  7. Dressing up my favorite Gap denim with a floral blouse and heels
  8. Taste testing at the local brewery
  9. Can’t believe my sister-in-law graduated high school, all grown up and beautiful

HAPPY FIRST MONDAY OF JUNE!!

Weekly Rewind

We have officially been back in the states from our two week vacation to Ireland and London (more photos later) for a week now and although it was definitely rough coming home to weather in the high 90’s, we are finally adjusting back to our work schedules, responsibilities, and normal routines.  This past weekend was full of seeing friends at the Old Town Craft Beer Fest (amazingly refreshing), practicing photography skills at Garfield Conservatory, and touring the Frank Lloyd Wright homes of Oak Park (stunning) in a torrential downpour.  Hope everyone had an amazing weekend and is having a great Monday!

Weekly Rewind: I DID IT!

When you read this, I will already be on my way to Ireland for my two-week family vacation!  Don’t worry, I have posts scheduled every day for your reading enjoyment some written by myself and some by fabulous guest bloggers!  I am going to try to respond to comments as quickly as possible while I’m away but bear with me!  If you want to see pictures from my trip like my Facebook Page or follow me on Instagram (thethreadaffect)! I hope everyone has an AMAZING two weeks!

I never thought it was possible but I DID IT!  I officially got dressed and ready for 7 days in a row!  This is a BIG HUGE deal for me as I rarely change out of my workout clothes Monday-Friday since I play at the park with kiddos all day.  Chicago’s weather last week was in the 60s/70s most days and I wanted to take full advantage of the mild fall-like weather while it was around!  Which outfit is your favorite?

Weekly Rewind

Following last week’s wedding mayhem, we needed a few days of recouping, which was exactly what we did last Sunday by watching four movies and ordering in every single meal. After finally catching up on sleep we had a great week hosting friends for a Mexican Pot Luck, learning new photography tips at a Chimpsy crash course, eating at new-to-us restaurants, and planning for our trips next month all while avoiding the NATO Summit chaos taking place downtown Chicago!  How was your week?  Anything new and exciting?  Don’t forget, I am still looking for guest bloggers for the two weeks I am gone, just shoot me an email at thethreadaffect@gmail.com!  Happy Sunday everyone, hope you have a wonderful week!

Maxwell Street Market

After a productive week of running errands and completing unfinished tasks, we rewarded ourselves with a weekend full of friends and relaxation. Celebrating a First Communion and attending a Cinco de Mayo/Kentucky Derby party on Saturday was followed by crossing off a few items on our Chicago Bucket list by eating Deuces Wild (2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, and 2 pancakes) at The Ohio House and visiting the New Maxwell Street Market on Sunday. Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend as well whether it was productive, relaxing, or jammed packed with events!
