Outfit // Leopard Scarf

Maroon-2The number of times I wear this leopard scarf a week is highly embarrassing, which is why it is surprising to discover I’ve only styled it one other way on here when I shared my favorite travel attire. This outfit is ridiculously easy and my go-to way to get dressed when I’m standing in front of my closet committing the typical “I have nothing to wear” tantrum – a blazer layered over a tank and tee combo topped off with a printed scarf, leggings, and boots. What’s your go-to outfit combination for fall?

Outfit // Grunge

Grunge-2First, I want to say thanks so much to everyone who took the time to vote on Friday’s post. Judging from the responses, I will continue to feature posts focused on remixing closet items, just not the same item every day for a full week. Even though it seems completely trivial your feedback is extremely helpful in guiding the future content of this here blog and I sincerely appreciate it! If you have any other suggestions or comments please feel free to share below in the comments or by contacting me here. Thanks!!

Second, I need to apologize for my lack of comments on your blogs and responses to emails and comments. We’ve been traveling out to our new home and had very little computer access for the past two weeks, but I promise I will get back to everyone this week!

Third, shall we talk about this outfit FINALLY? I know this leather tank was just in Thursday’s post last week, but what can I say I absolutely love it. It is comfortable, soft, and edgy. This time I chose to pair it with boyfriend shorts and my favorite plaid shirt for a day in the car. I like how the laid-back shorts downplay the edginess of the leather and how the ruffled blouse ups the feminine factor, it’s all about balance (right?). What’s your favorite way to wear leather for summer or fall? I’m excited to pair this tank with more professional pieces in the future. Happy Monday everyone! Sorry, for the super long blog post this morning!

Outfit Equations

DailyOutfit-1It is important for me to maintain a balance between the type of outfits showcased here (dressy vs casual, classic vs trendy) while still staying true to my aesthetic yet current in the trends. That means for me at this point in my life, aka unemployment, my daily dress code equals the simple equation of boyfriend denim, comfy blouses, and colorful flats and when the weather is cool enough my new favorite utility jacket that seems to add an instant cool factor to any outfit. This outfit equation has been the perfect easy combination for daily errands, walking dogs, and attending casual events, it was even perfect for a little playtime at the park!

A Touch of Turquoise

{Sweater:  Zara (here, recently) | Tank:  Target | Necklace:  XXI | Jeans: Fidelity | Shoes:  Steve Madden (here) | Watch:  Michael Kors | Sunnies:  XXI | Purse:  Longchamp | Nails:  Essie School of Hard Rocks}

After a successful day of shopping down the Mag Mile on Saturday, I couldn’t wait to wear this newly purchased kimono style cardigan from Zara the next day to run errands and attend my first four-year old princess birthday party.  I adore the ease and comfort of this cardigan with the springtime touch of turquoise.
