Pink + Plaid

Ten Two years ago I never would have guessed that a pair of bright pink pants and a pink boyfriend cardigan would be my two accent pieces to my otherwise neutral wardrobe packed for ten days overseas.  I guess the girl inside me had to come out at some point!  Starting with a simple neon shirt followed by a classic cardigan (here) and trendy colored denim (here), pink is slowly invading my closet since it is the perfect pop of color against neutrals and as a compliment to brighter or patterned pieces.  What is your favorite summer color that brightens up any outfit?

This is the outfit I wore for our first full day of touring London which included seeing Buckingham Palace, Changing of the Guard, Chelsea Soccer Stadium, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, Parliament, and the Churchill War Rooms, a full day of tourism to say the least.  This outfit was completely comfortable, casual yet put together, and the layers made it easy to adjust for the changing weather.  What is your go-to tourist outfit?

  2. I just purchased a pink Gap cardigan on sale last week and I adore it. It really does change the game in terms of versatility in your wardrobe. I need more color in my life. This gives me the pop I’ve been needing!
