For Christmas my parents surprised us with our own snowshoes so Justin and I couldn’t wait to head to the mountains this past Sunday to cross #9 off my January resolution list.
7:00
7 // Rise and shine, it is so challenging to get out of a warm bed on a chilly morning
8 // Necessary reinforcements and entertainment for the 2.5 hour drive to Mount Rainier
9 // The cutest one room house near the Ranger Station where we stopped to ask for snow and avalanche conditions and route recommendations
10 // The trusty Saturn chained up for the drive up the mountain
11 // New gear is all set and ready for some fresh powder
12-3 // Snowshoeing on Mount Rainier via Paradise
4 // A quick dinner at The Hobo Inn, a 1922 family owned caboose restaurant in Elbe, Washington
5-6 // A final sunset view of Mount Rainier on our way back to Seattle
7 // All tuckered out and cozied into bed for a classic movie night from this list
Your pictures are great, looks like alot of fun. Your dog’s are so adorable♥

Thanks Zhenya! Unfortunately the food was not that great but the atmosphere made up for it! 🙂

Looks amazing – like two of my loves combined (I’m originally from MN where there are no Mountains, and I currently live in NZ but snow shoeing isn’t very popular here as there really isn’t enough snow)! Love that you had a photo of the tire chains as well – LOL!

You currently live in New Zealand? Which part? That is one of my FAVORITE countries in the world – absolutely gorgeous!

I live in Dunedin in the South Island – LOL not the most glamorous of NZ’s cities, but it suits me just fine. It is an amazing country to live in and I’ve been really lucky to live here for so long (7 years in Feb)!
It is SOooo beautiful here. I do a lot of tramping (hiking), so I feel very spoilt in the fact that I’ve seen some of the most beautiful and remote parts of the country!

We only went to the South Island when we were there and couldn’t get over how every single part was absolutely stunning. So incredibly jealous!
